HandBrake 1.8 Released

The HandBrake Team is pleased to announce the release of HandBrake 1.8

This release continues a focus on the HandBrake core engine, improvements in feature parity between the Mac, Windows and Linux User Interfaces and many other fixes and improvements. Many 3rd party libraries have also been updated, including the latest SVT-AV1 2.1.0 encoder.

Upgrade Notice

Before updating, please make sure there are no pending encodes in the Queue. Please also make note of any custom presets you have created, as they may not be compatible with newer versions.

For Windows Users, please be aware that HandBrake requires Microsoft .NET Desktop Runtime 8. If you are unsure how to install this, please see our forum post for details.
